The Importance of Going Mobile

According to Nielsen and McKinsey's Social Media Report, "time spent on mobile apps and mobile websites accounted for a 63% increase in total time spent from 2011." Of the users connecting with mobile devices, 72% use a smartphone while 23% use a tablet. Yes, tablets count as mobile views!

It's important to make sure you have a mobile website, and that you know what your site looks like on both smart phones and tablets. Nothing is worse than being on the go and needing something from a business’ website only to find it is incompatible with your device. It's also good to consider having your own phone app built or marketing through text messages.

Let's talk mobile websites for a minute - you can have either a Liquid (also called Fluid) site design, or a Responsive Design. Here at HMMS we believe mobile is the future, so we make all of our websites with a Responsive Design format. This means that your mobile website will not just be a proportioned version of your site but a layout specifically for the device it's being viewed on.

Now let's talk about one of my favorite mobile apps - Pinterest! Pinterest had the highest increase in audience across all social networks and devices! 1 in 5 pins results in a later purchase. Holy conversion rate! Product Photography and user engagement is more important than ever, and we can help you maximize results. Contact us about making your small business "Pinteresting!"
